US cattle account for cheap Japanese media: US and Japan reached a trade agreement framework

Nikkei reported today that the United States and Japan have reached a broad framework for trade agreements, the United States continues to impose tariffs on Japanese cars, and Japan has lowered import tariffs on US beef and pork.

The report pointed out that US Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer and Japanese Economic Recycling Minister Mao Mumin filled the agreement in Washington yesterday. US President Trump and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe are expected to announce the results tomorrow at the side meeting of the G7 summit in Biarritz, France.

The Nikkei News did not quote sources.

Shortly before the report appeared, Mao Mumin had told reporters in Washington that his trade talks with Wright Heze had “great progress.”
