Dubai, May 3, 2005 (WAM) – His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, has ordered the release of 587 inmates of Dubai’s reform and penal institutions. .

His Excellency Issam Issa Al Humaidan, Attorney General of Dubai, stressed the keenness of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, with the advent of the holy month of Ramadan, to grant the pardons an opportunity to re-engage in society and practice their lives as good individuals committed to the law and its provisions, To their families on these blessed days in order to affirm the principle of tolerance that our wise leadership attributes as a fundamental value of our society, while our nation celebrates the Year of Tolerance in a symbolic sign of the great positive impact of this lofty value and consolidation.

He appealed to His Excellency the Attorney-General of the Emirate of Dubai, who is included in the amnesty, to take the sermon from the experience they have gone through in order to avoid anything that could divert them from the right path and to take the lofty opportunity to fold a page in their lives with all the mistakes that have been made. With their families and loved ones within the framework of compliance with the provisions of the law which represents the fence protecting the society and guarantor of the security and safety of its members and the custodians of their property and rights, so that the UAE society remains a model for societies that uphold the principle of the rule of law.

His Excellency Essam Al-Humaidan explained that the Public Prosecution has immediately started coordination with the Dubai Police and the competent authorities to carry out the amnesty order before the holy month of Ramadan.
